HIDA Sangyo — Japanese Woodcraft Since 1920

Founded in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, HIDA Sangyo is one of Japan's oldest furniture makers, rooted in a woodworking tradition that stretches back over 1,300 years.

Every piece is shaped by four principles: coexistence with the forest, consideration of human needs, a legacy built through time, and the continuous refinement of craft. The result is furniture that feels both timeless and deeply considered.

HIDA has collaborated with designers including Sori Yanagi, Kenya Hara, Enzo Mari, and Kengo Kuma. Their work is held in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and selected pieces furnish the Japanese Imperial Palace.

Available in Sweden through Kanso Haus.
